Résumé en anglais
This booklet is intended to document the practices that have made it possible for centuries to preserve the Sikien (plural of Takienta), traditional dwellings that can still be found by thousands in Koutammakou, on both sides of the Togo-Benin border. These architectural jewels still inhabited in the landscape are the pride of the Otammari people, who erect and maintain them every year. They are an essential element of this cultural landscape, the Togolese part of which has been inscribed on the World Heritage List since 2004.
