Résumé en anglais
This presentation is about the relationship between tangible and intangible heritage in Hahoe village. It discusses two important cultural traditions: 1) Hahoe maskdance which became a theatrical performance, 2) Ancestral rites and clan assembly. Social change inevitably mademask dance to be revived through public efforts. However, ancestral rites and clan assembly are still sustained byvillagers. Prime factor on this heritage is Jongga or official heir. Can we retain the spirit of Hahoe in the future?
