Résumé en anglais
The nature, distribution and patterning of cultural and archaeological resources in the rural landscape, have a major effect on the types of policies and strategies which we adopt so as to ensure their proper protection and preservation. In urban conservation the integration of conservation policies and programmes with the overall urban planning and development process has been generally accepted though not always practices. This interaction between conservation and planning and development is also one of the major principles and objectives of the new Charter for the Conservation of Historic Towns and Urban areas.
