Résumé en anglais
From 1993 onwards ICOMOS commissioned its National Committees to write a series of monographies to its National Committees to document the individual experiences of nations in the long term in the care of their heritage. This volume is dedicated to the care of heritage in Jamaica. The Jamaica National Committee of ICOMOS presents here a brief overview of some areas of interest which are of significance and concern when we review issues of protection of the national’s cultural heritage. This heritage is presented here under both the built and the natural environment. each chapter has been carefully selected to reflect the interest of the membership and, at the same time, to display other aspects of Jamaica to the world, in addition to the sun, sea and reggae (as discussed in the chapter on cultural tourism). This book is a first for the country and promises to be an invaluable addition
