Résumé en anglais
This paper discusses how, for the last 20 years, archaeology is playing a major role in the development process of the Peruvian Northern Coast. The Northern Coast region, which has a rich archaeological history has been plundered by illegal looters for many years. The discovery of the burial place of the Lord of Sipan twenty years ago generated a growing interest in scientific archaeology. This paper focuses on two cases, the Tucume Archeological Complex and Temple of the Sun and the Moon, to explain how heritage can contribute to regional development.
