Résumé en anglais
It seems appropriate to examine the participation ofthe United States in the World Heritage Convention on the thirtieth anniversary of its promulgation and tohighlight some of the issues that have affected, and continue to affect, U.S. participation. Some of these issues, should other countries approach them in a similar way, also have the potential to affect the operation of the convention from an international perspective.
