The paper deals with implementation of the Recommendations and Directios for energy conservation in churches published by the Central Board of National Antiquities in Sweden in 1979. The problems arising from the public's demand for higher standards of beating and comfort in churches are discussed. This improvement results in low relative humidities and much unexpected consequential damage to objects and materials.
