Résumé en anglais
The Panama wall was a silent witness to the social and political changes of Panama City. It witnessed the rejection of Hispanic roots in the search for recognition and equality before the world commercial white and anglosaxon powers and finally, the return to embracing those Hispanic roots. The city wall played a significant role in the cultural claim and in the quest to define national identity in the face the cultural pressures brought about by the enclave of the Canal Zone.
