Résumé en anglais
The Historic Mosque City of Bagerhat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on Bangladesh’s southern coast, is threatened by salinity and waterlogging, hazards driven by climate change. The study assesses present and projected climate risk to six of its monuments through a values-led approach that measures risk against the heritage values people hold. Local, traditional, and scientific knowledge are brought together, and community members and stakeholders help assess the risk and shape the adaptation pathway. The result is a risk rating for each monument, projections to 2060 with a stress test to 2100, and an adaptation roadmap for the site.
