Résumé en anglais
The compilation of this book began in 1993, during the first course of Architectural Restoration at the Faculty of Architecture and Physical Planning, Eduardo Mondlane University, Maputo, Mozambique. The course was proposed by the scientific committee of the La Sapienza University of Rome as part of a university cooperation project of the Italian government. The project, which lasted about 20 years, was called the "Faculty of Architecture of Maputo".This text has been refined in the subsequent courses of Architectural Restoration in Maputo, at the La Sapienza University of Rome, at the Carlo Bo University of Urbino and during the collaboration with some courses of the Universities of Padua and Venice, places where the author had his first university education.
As will be evident to the reader, the text mainly collects personal reflections gained in over thirty years of professional activity in the field of architectural restoration, an activity scientifically oriented above all by the School of Specialization in Architectural and Landscape Heritage of the La Sapienza University of Rome, with the which the author has maintained a long collaboration.
