As a coastal great power, China has a long maritime history and is famous of the “Silk Road on the Sea”. In our territorial sea, inner waters and other jurisdiction areas, there are thousands of underwater cultural relics which are an important part of our national cultural heritage.1 The Development in the Protection of UCH in China.
From the 1980s, the Chinese government began to pay more and more attention to the protection of UCH. The career of Underwater Archaeology has been set up and developed quickly, and gains great achievement under the directing and funding by the government.2 The main problems encountered by the protection of UCH.
